Objective

A Purpose Big Enough to Heal the World

David Burke's mission is to help people and families navigate mental health, behavioral health, addiction, trauma, and crisis with compassion, dignity, and practical support.

He believes no one should have to suffer in silence or face their darkest moments alone. Drawing from both professional expertise and lived experience, David meets people where they are and helps create a path forward  toward recovery, wellness, connection, and a better quality of life.

His purpose is simple: Turn pain into purpose. Turn recovery into service. And help others find the light he once had to fight to find himself.

Strategy

Everyone deserves to know they are not alone in their pain: whether it comes from grief, mental health challenges, trauma, or addiction. David Burke has spent his life proving that truth, but he first had to lose almost everything.

David once found himself homeless, isolated, and searching for anything that could quiet his pain. Hope felt almost impossible. Then a mentor extended a hand instead of passing judgment and showed him a path toward recovery. David chose to take it.

After he found his way back, he made another choice: to dedicate his life to helping others find theirs.

Today, David is an internationally licensed mental health, addiction, trauma recovery, and wellness professional and the founder of a behavioral health and treatment center built on one fundamental belief: nobody should have to face their darkest moments alone.

His work reaches professional athletes, entertainment professionals, executives, military veterans, first responders, and families facing some of life’s most difficult circumstances. He has worked across the NHL, NFL, SAG-AFTRA, and Hollywood, while his training and experience in critical-incident response, trauma, recovery, and wellness extend nationally and internationally.

Yet David’s greatest qualification is not a title, credential, or résumé. It is that he has been there. He understands sudden loss, mental health struggles, addiction, homelessness, isolation, and despair. He also knows what it means to believe there is no way forward—and then discover that there is.

That lived experience shapes how David serves others: meeting people where they are, listening without judgment, walking beside them, finding solutions, and creating a path forward. This may mean supporting a family affected by addiction, a veteran carrying invisible wounds, a first responder processing an unforgettable event, an executive quietly struggling behind an image of strength, or a parent grieving the unimaginable loss of a child.

His philosophy is simple: “Nobody really cares how much you know, but how much you care.”

Recovery did more than give David his life back. It gave him a reason to live in service of others. His mission is to help people move toward hope, health, healing, and a better quality of life while breaking the stigma surrounding mental health, behavioral health, trauma, and addiction.

His work is solution-focused and deeply human—helping individuals and families navigate life-changing moments, respond to critical incidents, process trauma, support recovery, and take the next step forward.

David’s story is not ultimately about what happened to him. It is about what he chose to do with it. He turned tragedy into purpose, recovery into service, and the life he almost lost into a commitment to help others reclaim theirs. He once needed someone to show him the way out. Now he devotes his life to showing others that there is one.

Results

He lost his father to violence, lost himself to addiction, lost his home to the streets. And then found a purpose powerful enough to transform pain into hope for others.

David Burke is an internationally licensed mental health, addiction, and trauma recovery professional. He is also the founder of a behavioral health and treatment center built on one belief: nobody should have to face their darkest moments alone.

After surviving the murder of his father, struggling with addiction, and experiencing homelessness, David reached a point where hope seemed impossible. Through recovery and the support of someone willing to believe in him, he found a path forward. Rather than allowing tragedy to define his future, David transformed his lived experience into a lifelong mission of service.

Today, his work reaches people across professional sports, including the NHL and NFL; entertainment, including SAG-AFTRA members and Hollywood productions; and communities of military veterans, first responders, executives, individuals, and families in crisis. His experience in mental health, trauma, critical-incident response, addiction recovery, and wellness allows him to support people facing life-changing challenges.

David meets people exactly where they are. He listens without judgment, recognizes the person behind the struggle, and helps individuals and families move toward solutions, renewed hope, health, and healing.

His story demonstrates that even life’s darkest chapters can become the foundation for change. David took the pain that nearly destroyed him and turned it into a commitment to help others rediscover their worth, reclaim their lives, and find their light again.
