HER HOUR

Entered in Automotive, Gender Equality

Objective

Her Hour was a social activation built around a cultural coincidence: in the U.S., International Women’s Day and Daylight Saving Time fell on the same day this year, making the clock jump forward, skip one hour, and effectively shorten the day meant to celebrate women.

For Hyundai, this cultural moment created an opportunity to act. Rather than simply acknowledging Women’s Day, the brand set out to demonstrate what it means to go beyond for women in a meaningful, tangible way.

In a category where automotive brands have historically underrepresented women, Hyundai has been actively working to shift that narrative, championing women as decision-makers and leaders. We sought to increase Hyundai’s brand engagement and improve brand consideration.

This moment allowed the brand to show up differently. Not with a message, but with an action.

By responding to a real-time cultural tension, Hyundai connected with women in a way that was timely, relevant, and authentic.

Instead of celebrating Women’s Day with words, Hyundai chose to give something precious back: time.

Strategy

While the alignment of International Women’s Day and Daylight Saving Time was a coincidence, it powerfully reflected a real, underlying imbalance: women in the U.S. have 13% less free time than men.

Hyundai recognized an opportunity to translate this truth into a meaningful, real-time brand action.

Social was central to the strategy, not just as a distribution channel, but as the mechanism for participation. Creators introduced a simple, platform-native prompt asking women what they would do with their hour back, lowering the barrier to engagement and encouraging immediate response.

Audience participation became the core mechanic. Comments were not treated as reactions, but as inputs, with Hyundai actively listening and bringing select responses to life.

By turning cultural insight into real-time, social action, the strategy addressed a genuine tension while positioning Hyundai as responsive, human, and culturally attuned.

The campaign launched ahead of March 8th with creator-led content on Instagram and TikTok, introducing the insight and inviting participation.

The idea was simple: if the clock takes an hour from women, Hyundai gives it back.

In the form of personalized, one-hour experiences.

To start, we partnered with creators to ask women what they would do with their hour back. Women responded without knowing their answers could become real. In real time, Hyundai selected responses and surprised women with personalized experiences based on what they actually asked for.

We turned comments into moments. Powered by Hyundai.

The campaign created a simple loop: we ask, women respond, we act and they share, inspiring more women across the country to claim their hour too.

By putting women’s answers at the center, Hyundai let them shape both the message and the outcome.

Instead of just celebrating women, the brand gave them something meaningful: their hour back.

Because women deserve more time to be celebrated. Not less.

By combining creator storytelling, real-time engagement, and user-generated content, Hyundai built a campaign that was both scalable and deeply personal.

Results

Her Hour drove strong engagement and participation, proving the power of real-time, socially-driven ideas.

The launch video generated over 200,000 organic views within the first few days, quickly gaining traction across platforms.

The campaign also delivered a 52% increase in Instagram comments compared to Hyundai’s 2025 average, demonstrating a significant uplift in audience interaction and engagement.

Beyond metrics, the campaign sparked meaningful participation, with women actively sharing how they would use their time and engaging with the brand in a more personal way.

User-generated content extended the reach of the campaign organically, as participants shared their experiences and inspired others to reflect on reclaiming their time.

Her Hour successfully turned a cultural moment into an interactive brand experience, driving both engagement and emotional connection at scale.
