The objective of this investigative documentary is to report on a tragic incident involving Israeli strikes targeting a group of journalists in Alma Al Chaab, South Lebanon on October 13, 2023. The incident resulted in the death of a Reuters journalist, Issam Abdallah, and injuries to six others, including Al Jazeera's correspondent Carmen Joukhadar and videographer Elie Brakhya.
Al Jazeera has condemned the attack, asserting that it likely constitutes a war crime, and has called for a thorough investigation into the matter.
The subsequent investigation involved rigorous verification of over 52 videos and photographs, as well as interviews with three witnesses. The evidence gathered strongly indicates that the group of journalists was clearly identifiable as civilians, yet they were deliberately targeted by the Israeli military in two separate strikes just 37 seconds apart.
