The Brennan Center for Justice produced "Why Is the Racial Gap in Voter Turnout Growing?" to bring awareness to our research and inform the public about the findings in the "Growing Racial Disparities in Voter Turnout, 2008-2022" report, which reveals that millions of people are being silenced in our democracy.
In partnership with //kneeon studios, we created the animated, digital short explainer, “Why Is the Racial Gap in Voter Turnout Growing?”, to illustrate how the history of voter suppression and recent attacks on the Voting Rights Act have paved the way for states to enact restrictive voting laws that disproportionately affect communities of color. The digital short was produced in English and Spanish.
The digital short ran on YouTube and across social media channels.
