Audible's Largest-Ever Integrated Romance Campaign

Objective

One of Audible's largest global campaigns in 2025 centered on a genre with a passionate fandom: romance audio entertainment. We knew romance was having a moment. Gen Z reinvigorated the genre, and #BookTok turned it into a phenomenon. Romantasy claimed bestseller lists. But without Audible, romance lovers were incomplete.

Launched in August, we made a bold statement: there's nothing guilty about this pleasure. We built a creative ecosystem that matched the passionate intensity of romance fandom with the goal of driving category growth through breakthrough marketing and innovative storytelling. 

Fans were engaged in a genre-wide celebration, from modern love stories to fantastical romantasy and regency classics. From breathtaking visuals — led by a cinematic hero video featuring an elven princess's epic love story — and richly layered audio, to hands-on tactile activations and a steady drumbeat of social content across organic and paid, our romance campaign engaged fans through sight, sound and emotion, creating a cohesive narrative across platforms.

Our thoughtfully integrated campaign transformed Audible’s romance content into an immersive universe on a global stage, inviting fans to fall in love with audiostorytelling  in entirely new ways. 

Strategy

Audible transformed insight into a global romance universe and created a love affair across every touchpoint. We leveraged a robust organic and paid social strategy to let creators and fans drive the conversation, sparking user-generated enthusiasm across socials. We created engaging experiential events and activations for listeners to interact with their favorite stories and characters in real life. High-impact out-of-home placements stopped fans in their tracks, and the campaign also included unexpected, culture-driving partnerships that blended dating, food, and fandom in delightful ways, with partners such as Tinder, Match.com, Tastemade, Snapchat, TikTok, BookTok creators, actors, narrators, and book lovers who speak fluent romance. 

Audible proved when strategy meets storytelling, magic happens. Across every platform, the integrated campaign had undeniable chemistry.

Results

Audible set out to drive category growth through breakthrough marketing and innovative storytelling, and the results proved to be a success. We saw exceptional performance across metrics while allowing creators and fans to help drive the conversation.
