Jan Wilker grew up in Ulm, Germany. He attended Stuttgart University's architecture school, and graduated from the State Academy of Art & Design Stuttgart in Communication Design. He moved to New York in late 2000 to start karlssonwilker, a design studio, together with Icelander Hjalti Karlsson. Together with their small, tight-knit team, they work with an eclectic list of clients on a wide range of projects. Jan has taught at Cooper Union, SVA, and Parsons. He frequently lectures and holds sought-after design workshops around the world. Jan is a member of AGI and currently serves as its US group's national president. He is a Professor at the the DeTao Master Academy in Shanghai. Past & current clients include: Bloomberg, MINI/BMW, Samsung, Swatch, TIME Magazine, Vitra, Museum of the Moving Image, Calder Foundation, Charles & Ray Eames Foundation.
