"Almost Normal Again Therapy Services" is a digital listening companion to Lil Poppa’s album Almost Normal Again, created to deepen fan engagement through a more personal and intentional listening experience. Rather than building a traditional promotional site, the goal was to create a functional product that extended the life of the album and gave fans a new way to engage with the music.
Lil Poppa’s audience connects deeply with his honesty and vulnerability, often turning to his music for emotional guidance. Fans naturally refer to his music as “therapy,” so we built an experience that reflects that truth, allowing fans to navigate the album based on how they feel, not just how they listen.
The microsite invites users to share what they’re currently experiencing, and the platform delivers a song recommendation aligned with their emotional state, creating a guided listening experience that directly connects emotion to music. Each recommendation seamlessly drives users to stream on Apple Music or Spotify.
This created a digital experience that not only promoted Almost Normal Again, but lived alongside it, turning passive listening into a personal, intentional, and repeatable experience.
"Almost Normal Again Therapy Services" translates the emotional core of the album into a simple, functional experience fans can actively engage with. We mapped each song on Almost Normal Again to specific emotional themes, then built a lightweight interface that allowed users to move through a single flow from input to song recommendation to streaming. One of the early challenges was that many songs spanned multiple emotional categories, with themes frequently overlapping. This required intentional mapping to ensure recommendations still felt accurate, cohesive, and true to the listener’s input.
Another major challenge was interpreting how fans communicate emotions in their own words. Inputs are often unpredictable or abstract. To solve this, we paired keyword-based natural language processing with an OpenAI fallback layer, enabling the system to interpret both direct and nuanced responses while maintaining consistent recommendations.
Because the experience is rooted in emotional expression, we also prioritized clear boundaries. Guardrails and visible crisis resources were implemented to ensure the platform remained supportive without presenting to be a substitute for professional care.
Execution was intentionally mobile-first and frictionless. The microsite required no login, loaded quickly, and delivered immediate results.
Following its launch on August 8, 2025, the "Almost Normal Again Therapy Services" microsite quickly attracted strong engagement from Lil Poppa’s core audience. During the initial campaign window, the platform reached over 1,800 unique users within the first 30 days of launch, reflecting immediate fan interest in the interactive platform.
The microsite has continued to generate organic discovery and repeat exploration. In February 2026, the platform recorded 1,252 unique visitors and 1,746 total page views, signaling sustained engagement months after launch.
This initiative established a new framework for how music campaigns can move beyond traditional consumption into product and experiential spaces by centering the mental and emotional wellbeing of fans, using music as a tool for reflection, healing, and deeper connection. More importantly, it reinforced what Lil Poppa represents to his audience - not just an artist, but a voice they trust, relate to, and turn to in real moments. The site established a place where that connection could continue beyond the music itself, allowing Lil Poppa’s message to live in a way that feels ongoing, personal, and impactful.
