Overwatch 2: Dokiwatch Series

Objective

When not facing off against great evil and injustice, what do the Heroes of Heart do in their off time? To support Season 16’s Dokiwatch skin bundle release, we created a social-first episodic series following our heroes’ lives as they perform tasks outside of saving the world. Our goal was to bring our players into the world of Dokiwatch through an eccentric style that highlights the sweet, spicy and cute styles that were portrayed with each of these Hero skin designs.

Strategy

We launched a 4-part series that utilized in-game voice lines and scenarios to craft these stories. We also partnered closely with Blizzard’s narrative team to weave a story of friendship, tribulations and silly-humor using in-game voicelines to create unique scenarios bespoke to our Dokiwatch skinned heroes.

Results

Our fans couldn't get enough! Over the course of the 8 week season, this series drove the highest organic combined impressions, earning over 16M for the season and leaving our players asking for more Dokiwatch episodes. This series led to 32K mentions of Dokiwatch across social channels.
