iHeartRadio: Perform with Muse Contest

Objectives

iHeartRadio is a service for music lovers run by music lovers. We connect fans with their favorite artists like no other music platform or company. iHeartRadio gave one lucky fan the experience of a lifetime by having them sing on stage with rock band Muse at one of their tour stops.

Strategy and Execution

iHeartRadio combined its strong presence on Instagram and Twitter with its close relationship with Grammy award-winning rock band, Muse, to create a unique and unforgettable experience for fans. iHeartRadio asked aspiring musicians from all over the country to perform their best cover of a classic Muse song of their choosing. By sharing their cover on Instagram and/or Twitter with #iHeartContest and #iHeartMuse, fans were automatically entered to win the opportunity to sing with Muse on stage.

The contest was featured across all of iHeartRadio's digital touchpoints: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, as well as iHeartRadio's rock radio station websites and social platforms. iHeartRadio worked with Muse to select one winner to sing on stage with the band during sound check at their show in Washington, D.C. – an experience that only iHeartRadio could make a reality.

Results

The iHeartRadio contest drove over 2.3 million impressions and the iHeartRadio Instagram account gained 11,860 new followers throughout the campaign. The winner got to sing on stage during soundcheck of Muse's sold-out show in Washington D.C., and it was all captured on video!
