Photography is more than just a profession or a hobby, it can also be an impactful tool. Nikon Ambassador, Kristi Odom, shows us how she uses photography to spread awareness and help save the lives of animals in the wild. This series was made to educate and inspire viewers not just to better their photography skills but also to show how with a camera we can capture stories that can make a difference in protecting wildlife from pollinators to predators.
Kristi Odom is a seasoned wildlife photographer who makes her life's work to spread awareness for wildlife conservation and uses her beautiful images to tell stories of animals who were held in captivity, endangered species, and specifically educate people on the importance of pollinators. B&H and Kristi have a long-time relationship and together came up with the idea to shoot an impactful series in Bolivia to tell the stories of the animals who can't speak up for themselves.
This was an extremely difficult project to shoot, from the hot climate, elevation, and the stories that pulled on the heartstrings. Our goal was to create a series that was simultaneously a photography educational piece while also spreading awareness of wildlife and nature conservation. This series was a big company success from getting positive engagement on YouTube to being able to push content that is not in the norm for a retailer like B&H to its global customers and audience.
