Teen Wolf: Behind Beacon Hills

Entered in Featurette or Behind The Scenes Video

Objective

Behind Beacon Hills is a six-part digital series taking fans behind-the-scenes of the making of Teen Wolf: The Movie. Each episode takes our rabid fanbase through welcoming the cast back to the franchise, seeing what goes on behind the camera lens, introducing the newest cast members, showcasing what goes into stunts and fight scenes, exploring the makeup and wardrobe trailers and sending a final love letter to the Teen Wolf fandom.

Strategy

Teen Wolf fans are passionate, dedicated and hungry for content. Knowing this, we created a six-part digital series that takes fans behind-the-scenes of the making of the highly anticipated Teen Wolf: The Movie. Each of the six episodes covered a different topic, and each episode ranged from 15 - 25 minutes in length to truly give fans the ultimate viewing experience. To achieve these episodes, we had a camera crew on set for almost the entire duration of filming, allowing us to capture as much footage as possible for our docu-series.

Episode 1, appropriately titled The Pack is Back, showcases the cast and crew's thoughts and feelings on returning to the franchise. We hear from stars like Tyler Posey and Holland Roden on what it felt like to be back on the ground in Atlanta where the original series first filmed, and we hear from showrunner Jeff Davis on what it was like to bring the franchise back in movie form.

In Episode 2, Behind the Lens, we see the cast start and end their day on set. They take us through their morning stop in the makeup trailer, to getting dressed for their scene work, to stopping at crafty and more. Tyler Posey even gave us an MTV Cribs style tour of his trailer.

Episode 3, New Characters, explores the bonds formed on set with the newest members of the pack: Vince Mattis and Amy Workman. We introduced the new faces to our audience through fun BTS footage of the pair and through anecdotes about them from other cast members.

We take our fans through the epic stunt work seen in the film in Episode 4: Stunts and Sticks. Our stunt team showed off the intense movements and safety precautions that go into fight scenes, and the lacrosse coordinator broke down what went into the scene at the big game.

In Episode 5: Fangs, Fits and Forests, we get a tour of the wardrobe trailer from star Crystal Reed, and we watch as our beloved actors transform into werewolves. We also learn more about the preparation that went into the sets of the film and into the costumes our heroes and villains sport.

Our finale, The Fans, shows the cast talking about the beloved fandom and follows them through their journey at New York Comic Con in 2022.

Results

Behind Beacon Hills was a key player in our social and digital strategy for Teen Wolf: The Movie, as it was our love letter to our fans. Through weekly scene lifts across platforms like Twitter, Instagram and TikTok, we pushed our audience to YouTube and Facebook to watch the full-length episodes and keep the momentum for the film alive after its January 26th, 2023, release date. These episodes garnered an average of 405K views per episode and a total of 9M views cross-platform, making it one of the leading pieces of content in our social campaign for the film.
