After the closure of SourceFed, popular YouTubers from the defunct channel teamed up with Rooster Teeth to create Sugar Pine 7, a channel so popular that a Buzzfeed quiz entitled, “What Sugar Pine 7 Member Are You?” appeared before the end of their first year. The channel’s main show is Alternative Lifestyle, which uses the vlog format, along with techniques like freeze-frame narration, to further its fictional, character- and plot-driven storylines. The group, led by Steven Suptic, enjoyed a very successful year, crossing the 1M subscriber threshold in August 2017. Sugar Pine 7 launched their 3rd season of Alternative Lifestyle at the beginning of 2018, fueled by the momentum from their first two beloved seasons.
