Objective

RegulatingAI is a nonprofit organization under Knowledge Networks, focused on empowering regulators, policymakers, advocacy groups, and industry stakeholders through education, awareness, and dialogue with a mission to democratize AI governance and influence creation and adoption of responsible AI policies. We are cultivating a global community that collaboratively shapes responsible AI policies.

Our primary objectives are:

• Advocacy: Promote ethical AI practices through global partnerships and policy discussions.
• Education: We aim to empower stakeholders, including policymakers, industry leaders, and the general public, by providing insights into AI legislation and its societal implications. Our goal is to demystify AI regulation and its impact, helping individuals make informed decisions regarding AI’s integration into their sectors.
• Community Building: Unite diverse voices to collaboratively shape responsible AI policies through panel discussions, podcasts, webinars, and newsletters, we facilitate ongoing dialogue and knowledge sharing, and creating a community committed to the responsible development of AI technologies.

Strategy

To achieve our objectives, here is a snapshot of RegulatingAI strategy for 2024:

1. Global Advocacy and Partnerships

• Strategic Partnership with Club de Madrid: This partnership unites RegulatingAI with an influential network of over 100 former Presidents and Prime Ministers all working together with a common goal to democratize AI and advocate ethical responsible AI. RegulatingAI’s strategic partnership with the Club de Madrid marks a groundbreaking collaboration in the realm of global AI governance.
• Imperial Springs International Forum 2024: As part of the same collaboration, Sanjay Puri, Founder and President of RegulatingAI, shared his insights in a panel on ‘AI & Green Technology for Progress and Development,’ discussing the intersection of AI and sustainable development.
• Partnerships with Leading AI Events: RegulatingAI's role as a partner at premier AI events such as Momentum AI in San Jose, Ai4 in Las Vegas, AI & Big Data Expo Global in Amsterdam, World AI Summit in Amsterdam, FT Future of AI in London, and ISIF in Madrid demonstrates its leadership in driving critical discussions on ethical AI and global governance.

Through these collaborations, RegulatingAI has shaped conversations through panel discussions and hosting LIVE podcasts at events, connecting with global thought leaders, and addressing the societal implications of AI.

2. Educational Initiatives

• RegulatingAI Podcast and Webinars: Hosting thought-provoking conversations with global leaders, such as Mehdi Jomaa, Former Prime Minister of Tunisia, Boris Tadić, Former President of Serbia, Senator Mike Rounds, and many others exploring AI's impact on governance and society.
• AI Legislation Bill Status Dashboard: Provide real-time analysis of AI legislation, empowering businesses, regulators, and organizations to make informed decisions.

Community Engagement:

• Social Presence: RegulatingAI maintains an active presence on social media platforms, and website, sharing the latest news on AI advancements, AI technologies and regulatory developments to foster informed discussions.
• Events and Webinars: RegulatingAI organizes and participates in global events and summits to engage with stakeholders and promote responsible AI practices.

Challenges We Faced and Overcame

1. Overcoming Regulatory Diversity

Navigating the global landscape of AI regulation was a significant challenge, as varying regulations across regions made it difficult to align our advocacy efforts. To overcome this, we built strategic partnerships with international institutions like the Club de Madrid. We collaborated with AI and policy-making leaders to address regional concerns and create unified, relevant messages for diverse audiences.

2. Simplifying Complex Discussions

Engaging policymakers, who often have limited time for complex issues like AI, was another challenge. We simplified AI regulation topics through our podcasts, webinars, and dashboards, making these discussions accessible to various stakeholders.

3. Managing Growth with Quality

Managing a rapidly growing community while maintaining quality content also posed logistical hurdles. Still, by leveraging advanced event management tools, we coordinated our efforts effectively and maintained consistent engagement across international platforms.

Audience Growth: The RegulatingAI Podcast has attracted a rapidly growing global audience, with 100+ podcasts, 40K+ downloads and 150K+ listeners, reflecting widespread interest in the responsible development of AI.

 Educational Impact: Our AI Legislation Bill Status Dashboard has empowered businesses, regulators, and policymakers with real-time analysis of AI legislation, leading to better-informed decisions regarding AI integration and policy adoption. The RegulatingAI Podcast has attracted a diverse audience, facilitating widespread understanding of AI's societal implications.

Strategic Partnerships: Through partnerships with leading organizations like the Club de Madrid and participation in major AI events, we have significantly raised the visibility of responsible AI advocacy, reaching key decision-makers across the globe.
