AI Baby Debunked

Objective

In 2026, with Generative AI capable of creating hyper-realistic humans, trust was at an all-time low among audiences. So when the K-drama Our Universe premiered on HBO Max, its breakout star, 20-month-old Park Yu-ho, performed with such "perfect" comedic timing and nuance that a global digital conspiracy took hold: that the baby itself was ‘AI’.

Embracing the controversy, we posted raw, unedited behind-the-scenes footage of Park that revealed his authentic cuteness had nothing to do with AI. Accompanying it were supers that directly addressed the global debate: Them: 'The baby is AI' / The baby:

Our goal was to not only celebrate the incredible talents of our star, but engage with fandom and the surrounding debate, assuring audiences that the quality of content and stories they’ve come to expect from HBO Max remains unmistakably high and authentically human.

Strategy

After several trailers and the first episode premiering, we immediately picked up on the online chatter, identifying a heavy ‘Is this AI’ theme among the audience.

Our editorial team proceeded to cut together behind-the-scenes promo material showcasing our star’s real (human) talents, alongside clever supers that acknowledged the simmering debate in a tongue-in-cheek manner, while simultaneously putting the issue to rest, once and for all.

Results

The post organically reached 9.2 Million views and 1.1 Million likes, successfully converting technical cynicism into human adoration.

Some fans even pleaded for local distribution and dubbed versions so they could welcome the "world’s newest internet nephew" into their own homes. Ultimately, it settled the argument and transformed our comment section into a global town square for admiration.
