Co-created by Justin Roiland and Mike McMahan (both of Rick & Morty fame), Solar Opposites centers around a team of four aliens who escape their exploding home world only to crash land into a move-in ready home in suburban America. They are evenly split on whether Earth is awful or awesome. Headed into the holidays, Hulu’s goal was to rally excitement around the upcoming holiday special with a very memorable (and musical) date announcement.
In lieu of a traditional date announcement video, Hulu released a custom music video starring our Shlorpion family singing an original song (with a special vocal appearance by guest artist, Darren Criss) which announced the release date of the Solar Opposites Holiday Special at the end (Nov. 22nd). In the song, Korvo searches for the true meaning of Christmas. It doesn’t go well.
Following a successful second season, Hulu has renewed wildly popular adult animated comedy for a third season.
