Gatorboard was born out of a business challenge that many of our clients were having. As an agency that thrives on partnerships we could not find a suitable "off the shelf" solution that combines original content curation, combined with social media content curation. Rather than delivering just another one off project, we decided to create an elegant product solution that we could sell to clients who have the need, and then as phase 2 we could reach the masses with a self-serve version.
Built on a cutting edge Hadoop platform, Gatorboard was built to scale from day one. In fact an early beta tester, World Wildlife Fund utilized Gatorboard to power their "Earth Hour" effort. Hundreds of thousands of tweets and image profiles were processed from across the globe (30 countries) during the 24 hour period without a hitch. Likewise, GlaxoSmithKline was able to take advantage of the large display format, and the custom content integration, to create a unique lobby display that promotes company culture.
