Abduction is a traveling exhibit touring universities, reaching students and helping them develop empathy for animals in laboratories and generating conversations about the ethics and low efficacy of animal testing through immersive VR storytelling.
Using VR storytelling and immersive user experience, we place students in a position to get a glimpse of how animals feel when they are taken from their homes and kept in laboratories where they are used as nothing more than equipment.
A 16’ box truck has been converted into a mobile VR studio, fitted with a moving seat and TV where the participant’s experience is cast for others to see. The truck has been making its way around the US, visiting colleges and universities and offering the experience for free to interested students.
To date, the experience has visited 31 universities in 16 states plus the District of Columbia, distributing tens of thousands of pieces of literature and having over 2200 students take part in the experience.
