Objectives

The goals of our website redesign were to generate curiosity, encourage exploration and evoke a sense of wonder for visitors. As one of the few apps that helps users both save and earn money, Super.com is a unique product, and we wanted our website to be a reflection of that uniqueness. Each section and component is a surprise, meant to delight and nudge visitors further down their path, with easter eggs, pop-culture references and hidden magic scattered along the way. We wanted our rebrand to encourage people to stay on the site longer by providing more interactive elements, hidden surprises, engaging content, and of course, amazing deals on everything they need (and want) to buy.

Strategy and Execution

Our site is built in Webflow, so we had some limitations that we had to break through. We used a combination of tools from AutoCAD to generate 3-D interactive elements, Spline to natively host the 3D objects in Webflow, and Figma for the actual layout design. We also had our illustration team using ProCreate and Adobe Illustrator on iPad Pros to create the storyboards and frames for all the animations, as well as for the static illustrations. Our Webflow agency, Zabal Media, provided developer support and project management, while our in-house team created the wireframes and hi-fi designs for the site. All copywriting was done in-house as well. One of the core challenges we faced was that our product screens are always changing. To get around this, we focused on imagery that evoked certain feelings and communicated certain messages to our users, so we didn't need to rely heavily on app screen images the way many other tech websites do. We also created a lovable mascot, named Spottie, a pink ball-shaped character who helps guide users through the site, as well as the app.

Results

Our new site has 3x the traffic volume and 5x the time on site as the previous one. We've also been able to start promoting and measuring sign-ups for our premium product, Super+, which have increased 2,500% from the site since our launch date.
