Celebrity Caregiving

Objective

Celebrity Caregiving is a YouTube Shorts series created to spotlight caregiving as a core pillar of our organization while reaching a broader, more culturally engaged audience. Recognizing that caregiving is often invisible and frequently misunderstood, we set out to reframe the conversation by meeting audiences where they are: in pop culture.

Strategy

We did not have the budget to interview all of these different celebrities, so we sourced content from interviews, podcasts, red carpets, and social media moments -- featuring public figures speaking candidly about their experiences caring for parents, partners, and loved ones. These moments were scattered across the internet, rarely connected, and often overlooked. We saw an opportunity to bring them together into a single, compelling narrative.

Our team scoured the internet for authentic clips of celebrities discussing their roles as caregivers. We curated and edited these moments into fast-paced, emotionally resonant YouTube Shorts that highlighted a simple but powerful truth: caregiving touches everyone, regardless of fame, wealth, or status. By showcasing well-known figures speaking openly about caregiving, we helped normalize the experience and validate millions of caregivers who rarely see their lives reflected in mainstream media.

The short-form format was intentional. YouTube Shorts allowed us to package a serious topic into an accessible, shareable piece of content designed for discovery, especially among younger and pop culture-driven audiences. The result was a series of content that felt timely, human, and culturally relevant—using familiar faces to introduce a deeply personal subject.

Results

Celebrity Caregiving succeeded in expanding our reach beyond traditional caregiving audiences and sparking meaningful engagement around an issue central to our mission. By blending pop culture with purpose, the series elevated caregiving from a private responsibility to a shared cultural experience one that deserves recognition, empathy, and conversation. And it drove results, with over 4.5 million views.
