Park Sessions

Entered in Multi-Platform Campaign

Objective

Park Sessions was created to connect audiences to National Parks through culture, creativity, and conservation while delivering premium original programming that aligned brand partners with purpose driven storytelling. The objective was to move beyond traditional music content by grounding each performance in place, highlighting the environmental and cultural significance of protected lands.

The 4-episode series aimed to showcase trailblazing musicians performing stripped down sets in the outdoor spaces that inspire them most, while also elevating indigenous voices, wilderness experts, and local stewards. A key goal was to raise awareness of conservation and restoration efforts through firsthand participation, reinforcing the responsibility to protect these landscapes.

We worked with one non-profit partner, Parks Project, and 3 sponsors to bring the series to life: Go RVing, Merrell, and T Mobile. Parks Project helped us produce many of the interstitial segments, connected us with some of the most unique local advocates and community groups and allowed us to tell deeper storylines. Presenting sponsor Go RVing had product integration in 2 episodes, and we produced stand-alone custom videos for each sponsor, allowing us to also deliver more brand- and product-forward assets to each sponsor. We had an artist create an original song for the Go RVing video. Merrel’s video leveraged its ongoing partnership with artist Goth Babe, while T Mobile’s focused on the features of their new T Mobile internet product.

Strategy

Park Sessions was brought to life through a carefully planned production model designed to protect the environments it showcased. Filming took place in National Parks and protected lands using handheld steadicams and small crews to minimize impact and adhere to strict permit requirements.

Each episode was structured around two core components. The first focused on intimate musical performances, often unplugged or solo, filmed in secluded locations that emphasized the natural beauty of each setting. The second featured interstitial segments centered on restoration and exploration, where artists joined indigenous leaders, wilderness experts, and local organizations to learn about conservation efforts, local traditions, and regional ecology.

The series also incorporated outdoor activities such as kayaking, rock climbing, and hiking, reinforcing the healing power of nature and encouraging viewers to engage with the outdoors responsibly. Throughout production, the team navigated challenges including limited access windows, unpredictable weather, and the technical constraints of filming high quality audio and video without traditional infrastructure.

Park Sessions extended beyond video through a dedicated content hub that housed full episodes and supporting editorial, creating a cohesive experience across platforms. Brand partners Go RVing, Merrell, and T-Internet were integrated in a way that supported the mission of the series while preserving editorial integrity. The result was a cinematic, multi platform program that blended entertainment, education, and environmental purpose.

Results

Park Sessions exceeded viewership expectations and delivered strong engagement across platforms. Across Outside TV channels, the series surpassed initial goals, demonstrating the scalability of original programming rooted in mission-driven storytelling.

Audience engagement on the Park Sessions digital hub further reinforced performance, with consistent traffic, meaningful time spent with the content, and strong video consumption. Interactive elements encouraged deeper participation, signaling active interest beyond passive viewing.

Together, these results validate Park Sessions as a successful original video series that connected audiences to National Parks while delivering sustained reach, engagement, and partner value across platforms.
