Shutterstock's Pixels of Fury is a live design competition that pits graphic designers against one another in a high-speed challenge. Cheered on by the live audience, the pressure is on to create the most compelling work before the clock runs out. Competitors face off in 20-minute rounds at computer stations with their process shown live on screens for the audience to watch. Each designer is challenged to create original posters using Shutterstock assets that fit into the designated theme of the evening. In the first and second round, a winner is selected by live votes from the audience who tweet using #PixelsOfFury or text in real-time to choose their winner. In the championship round, the finalists from the first two rounds face off in a showdown round. Audience members again tweet using #PixelsOfFury or text to decide which competitor will take home the Furious Pixel trophy and the designated grand prize. The audience is not only activated when they tweet to vote, they also have an opportunity to win a prize in Shutterstock's Napkin Sketch contests. Attendees can use markers to draw anything that comes to mind and tweet it or Instagram it using #PixelsOfFury. A winner is selected at the end evening and takes home the designated grand prize. |
