With a few months before the US Presidential Election, there was a very real chance that Donald Trump was going to be President. And while there was no shortage of people bashing Trump, most of the communication seemed to be more of an expression of frustration, rather than an attempt to persuade voters that a Trump Presidency was not the direction they wanted this country to head.
To try and convince people that Donald Trump was not the right person to run this country, we launched the Washington v. Trump campaign, which compared quotes from the George Washington, our founding father, with the quotes of Donald Trump on a variety of topics including national debt, women, treatment of POWs, religious persecution etc. We knew that the race would be close, and we thought if we could convince just a few people, we might be able to make a difference. We used Instagram to push out the idea, as it seemed to be an idle medium to showcase the simple contrasting natures of the belief of the two men. The simple animation was designed specifically for Instagram, where we posted a new quote everyday leading up to election day.
